Affiliate Project X - Notes, Plans and Secret Blueprints

Posted on Oct 06 2006 | Tagged as: Affiliate Marketing, Market Research, Website Traffic

I usually don’t trust it when the mailing lists I’m subscribed to send out promotions. Obviously, the mailing list owners are going to promote most products, right? It’s in their pocketbook’s best interest.

It doesn’t help when you hear things like how each name on a list is worth about a $1 a month. And considering so much of what’s out there is just rehashed information … oftentimes the books I get aren’t worth my time reading them.

So when the emails started flooding in about this new “Affiliate Project X” book, I decided to turn to my little “sphere of internet marketing influence” for comments. It just takes me too long to read through everything out there and like you, my time is valuable.

What I got back was a little suprising. Especially for the new clickbank product of the week — at least that’s what I call it. I’ve been passing on them for virtually the entire summer.

But the handful of people I contacted about this book told me this one was for real. They were so sincere in fact that I bought it without even so much as glancing at the sales letter.

Now my business plan isn’t focused on affiliate marketing (I’m more of a product creator), but I decided to look into the ebook anyway.

After spending all day yesterday reading through it, I think I’m going to have to change my mind on affiliate marketing. I even went through it twice and have put together an “affiliate marketing plan of attack”.

The concepts in the book were truly eye-opening. Now even though I like creating products and only really dabble with affiliate marketing, I can see the power of these tactics. Imagine if you already know the next product you’re going to create is a winner, just by testing out how well similiar products like yours convert.

Affiliate Project X gives you that power. And I’m all for it.

I can only imagine if I got this much out of it, how much someone with more of an interest in affiliate marketing stands to gain.

To pull the curtain back a little, the author goes through 6 major methods in affiliate marketing. They include:

1. The Art of the Pre-Sell 2. The Affiliate Diary 3. The Workhorse Method 4. Thief in the Night:Stealing from the Super Affiliates 5. Copy the Best Part 2 6. The Opportunist

After reading the first method, I was truly sold on the ebook. And it only got better the more I read. This stuff is powerful … and then some!

Just so you know, I did purchase the author’s previous ebook, “Adwords Miracle” back in May. Chris really pulled off a great one with that one as well.

After digging out my adwords notes on Adwords Miracle (which I had kept guarded in my thin stack of important notes), I was able to put together a great plan of action for my affiliate marketing/adwords endeavors.

I’m calling it my secret blueprint for now (more on that another time).

At any rate, if you’re interested in learning from one of the best, I’d suggest you look into Chris’s “Affiliate Project X“. This guy is one to watch for sure.

Resell Rights, Master Rights, and Private Label Rights

Posted on Sep 26 2006 | Tagged as: Market Research

I’m sure you know there are a ton of different rights products available. It’s a big thing on the internet marketing scene. People write up a report and then offer rights to it in exchange for a fee. You purchase the rights and it’s a shortcut to having your own product. These rights products come in real handy if you want to offer a back-end product to your list or to test the waters of a particular market.

But do you understand what you may do with each type of rights product? Keep in mind that the license agreement provided with your rights product is the ultimate guide. But for the most part, most of the internet marketing community adheres to the following guidelines:

Resell rights allow the purchaser to resell the product and keep the profits.

Master resell rights allow the purchaser to resell the product AND to resell the rights to the product. Of course, they may keep all the profits for themselves.

Private Label rights allow the purchaser to rebrand the product (i.e. give it a new name, add their name as author, create new packaging) and even make changes to the product (add in new chapters, customize it, etc) AND resell the product keeping all the profits.

Lastly, there are Master Private Label rights. These rights allow the purchaser to rebrand and make changes to the product. The purchaser may also resell the product AND the rights to resell the rights to the product.

If you’d like to find the best Resell Rights, Master Resell Rights, Private Label Rights, and Master Private Label Rights products on the web, then check out Infopublishing Secrets.

How Does Google Trends Stack Up?

Posted on May 12 2006 | Tagged as: Search Engine Optimization, Market Research

Find hot new trends to create products or services in. That’s the latest from Google with their launch of Google Trends, a unique, new trend searching tool. Here’s a little about how it works…

When you type in a word (or words) Google Trends reports back with a chart that shows how often the keywords or keyphrases are searched for over time. You may see some sharp spikes or a flat plateau depending on the “trend factor” of your search.

Obviously, a keyword that is searched for steadily over time will show a plateau, whereas a keyword related to a passing topic (like tax extensions) will show a sharp spike about the time of its peak (probably right after the tax deadline in April here in the U.S.).

One interesting point to make is that under the graph, Google Trends will show the top 10 cities that searched for the term. Very useful if you’re going to pursue offline marketing techniques.

It will also display the top few regions (i.e., U.S., India, Canada, United Kingdom) and the top languages.

Off to the right of the screen, you will see a few links to news articles pertaining to your topic. They have letters by them that correspond to the peaks on the graph. So you can see how the news relates to the searches.

So how can you use this information?

Well for starters, if you have a news site (or one in a niche market where you like to think you’re an authority), you can quickly find out whether or not people are searching on a particular keyword. You can also find some relevant news articles to write about on the topic. Just quickly summarize the news and supply your readers with a link to the full article.

One nice feature about Google Trends is that you can compare keywords and phrases. Just type in a few related words (separated by comma) and you will see a graph that shows both terms pitted against each other. That way you can see relationships. This feature is unique (that I know of) to Google Trends.

To show you the power of this new tool, you can type in “blogging, podcasting”. The graph supplied shows how people are searching for both terms almost equally.

Since podcasting and blogger are intertwined, you would think one would follow the other in popularity, and it seems that they have. When one peaks, so does the other.

This is excellent market research for you if you are in the blogging market. You know without a doubt that your bloggers will be interested in the latest news in podcasting. You can even see the major news stories that correspond with the peaks and provide your bloggers with similar information.

You may try Google Trends out for yourself here…

I don’t believe this free tool will replace the popular keyword research tools (like Wordtracker), nor is it meant to. For one, Google Trends does not list how many searches there are for any given keyword … all you see are the peaks, plateaus, and valleys. For another, it doesn’t return any related results. All this is fine, Google Trends is a great resource in its own right.

But if you want to research keywords and phrases for building a website around (and SEO), you will still want to use a tool like Wordtracker.
